Can i substitute mimosa bark for mimosa root bark?

there is a tree in our neighborhood that is mimosa and i want to make dmt. I can't dig it up and get root bark so can i just use regular bark but like use more of it? Sue me for it but oh well. just answer the question. I don't think people should get points for giving me a lecture i said not to give.
